Developer Rhinotales Studio announced that it is working on its upcoming title Critical Shift. This turn-based tactical thriller features survival elements and one where players need to explore a secret research facility that's been buried under the ice. It's coming out later this year on PC and consoles PlayStation and Xbox.
Rhinotales is an indie developer that’s focused on narrative-driven games with deep tactical gameplay. In addition to the announcement, the studio also released a new trailer which highlights the game's intense tactical combat, robust character, weapon customization, and gripping story. The Dangers Lurking Within
Critical Shift begins with a distress call from a top-secret research station in Antarctica, after which all communications are completely cut off. The final official report of the incident contains only scraps of information.
Players lead a squad as they head on over to reach ICE-1 Station, which is located deep under thick layers of ice. It's a place where hundreds of scientists, soldiers, and researchers lived and worked. However, within its depths are hidden things that can obliterate the boundary between reality and insanity. If even one of those objects gets out of the station, it could mark the end of the world as we know it.
A Profound Story
The story of Critical Shift is courtesy of the masterful pen of Guiltythree, author of the cult web novel Shadow Slave. His work is renowned for its rich character development, dark atmosphere, and genuinely unexpected plot twists. For the game, Guiltythree reinterprets familiar events and intertwines them with mystery while throwing the heroes into a dizzying vortex that's full of lethal danger, drama, treachery, and a whole lot more.

For the PC, the game is releasing on Steam with the minimum system requirements being:
