King's Quest II - Romancing the Throne

This is (obviously) the second episode of the King's Quest series. This one is little bit better than the first episode, but the interpreter is almost the same so don't expect any miracles.

Story

Graham has been King of Daventry for several years now and the realm is doing well. However, King Graham is lonely and needs a wife. No one will do but a lovely girl -- Valanice who is locked away in a quartz tower. If he can rescue her she will become queen.

Opinion

I can't really explain exactly why, but I just love these type-in adventure games. They make you feel like you're not limited to the usual Pick Up, Push, Talk To, etc. stuff, but you can do anything you want. (Of course that's not true, but it's the feeling that matters.) The graphics and the music are pretty standard (EGA pictures and no music), so there's no point in wasting any time talking about them (check out the screenshots). If you can disregard the quality of the graphics then you'll love this game. It's not too hard either, so you probably won't have any problems with it.
