Introduction I know this game is very old, but it has such a great story (and not to mention a few original ideas) that I thought it deserved a page. The music and the graphics are a little (?) out of date, but this is still a great game. Story After decades of unrest the King has united his subjects, and the Kingdom was finally at peace. The King visited a small village while hunting and this was where our hero -- Diermot joined his crew. But soon they got bad news: a young and beautiful enchantress--Selena is threatening the town of Turnvale. It all sounded too dangerous to Diermot so he tried to leave, but before he knew it he was riding with the King's guards. Through the morning mist they heard the howls and bellows of the approaching army. They realised that Selena had rallied an inhuman horde. That was their first encounter with the vicious Skorl. The King and his men had no chance. There on a small hill near Turnvale the King fell and he was buried by those few companions who survived the battle. Diermot was knocked unconscious and when he came to, he was deep inside the Skorl dungeons. Now he was the only one who could save Turnvale from Selena and the Skorl. Opinion Although this game isn't really such a big deal, the story is so great that I thought I'd make a page for it. As you can see the graphics aren't too good, they're much too dark and also too repetitive. I wish I could say at least that about the music, but I can't. The only time I ever heard some decent music was in the intro. During the game there are mostly just sound effects (like burning fire, etc.) and even those are pretty crappy. The best part of the game is the way you control Diermot. I've never seen such a complex control system in an adventure game. You have a partner called Ratpouch and you can tell him to do almost anything. For example you can tell him to: Go to the street and then Unlock the door and then Go inside and then Pick up the book and then Return. I just made that command up, but you can really make sentences as complex as this one. I could write some more about this system, but you have to see it to believe it. It makes the game much more fun and gives an added edge to the puzzles. Too bad the writers didn't make full use of this unique feature. By the way, the game is generally very easy and kind of short too so it probably won't hold an experienced adventurer's attention for long.
