Introduction Having seen screenshots and read reviews about it, I was really looking forward to playing this game. (I'm usually looking forward to any third person adventure game nowadays anyway.) I was in no way disappointed but this game will never make it to my top 10. Story At the time of World War II, a British expedition to the North Pole discovers a strange "artefact" burried deep under the ice. Unfortunately, a Nazi attack in the middle of the recovery process accidentally reveals the true nature of the artefact being recovered. The only survivor of the expedition is picked up by a British submarine but another Nazi attack starts a chain reaction which results in almost complete devastation of the crew. We play Lieutenant Ryan, a US secret agent within the ranks of the Royal Navy and one of the few survivors of the submarine catastrophy. Our goal is to find out exactly what happened and stop the chain reaction that was started on the submarine, if it can still be stopped. During our mission we'll discover things about past and future and learn of the powerful, horrid creatures which once dominated the lives of ancient humanity until they could be defeated and burried to forever become prisoners of ice. Opinion To tell you the truth, there's nothing really extraordinary about this game. The music and graphics are very nice, the controls are the usual point and click so we basically get what we're used to. As for the story, you'll have to see for yourselves. I didn't want to give away too much of it, simply because it would have been a shame to. It's a really good sci-fi mix. I'm only sorry the writers didn't leave us a little bit more time to realize what's going on. The game was always moving very fast, pushing me forward and that didn't give a chance for me or the writers to go into more detail. I would've liked that. The puzzles were too easy and too few to keep me "stuck" in one place long enough to really think about what's been happening. I think that if they'd simply just left a little more time for things to sink in then this would have been a fantastic story and this could have been a great game. The way it is now, the game stops at being good and joins the club of the shortest adventure games on the market.
