Introduction

This used to be one of my personal favorites in the series. This is the first QFG game with a point-and-click interface.

Story

Having saved Shapeir and become adopted by the sultan as well as become a prince of the land, you relax for a while. Unfortunately you can't rest for too long because not much later the local sorceress gets a message from Kreesha, a sorceress from the city of Tarna saying that two villages in the East Fricanan savannah are on the brink of war and she suspects that some demons are involved. Your friend Rakeesh the liontaur, brother of Tarna's king and husband of Kreesha, decides to go there and you and the local guildmistress decide to go with him. You meet the Council of Tarna, where you get detailed information about what has been happening. You are sent to the villages as a peace emissary and to look for demons.

Opinion

It is quite apparent that the graphics designers were overjoyed at getting their hands on VGA graphics because they have included many easter eggs as well as a lot more visual gags and humor than in the previous games. The graphics are sufficiently good not to irritate you as you play, the music is good and the dialogues are well written. The combat is pretty well designed and generally not too bad. There's a good replay value since the game is different for each character class, and it's especially fun to play. The new bargaining system is a great improvement which eventually lead to the great bargaining system of Quest for Glory V. There are plenty of subquests, but a hardcore gamer won't find an enormous challenge.
