Introduction

This game is the sequel to the amazing Simon the Sorcerer. Although the jokes and the humor of the first episode is hard to beat, they certainly tried.

Story

A young boy unwillingly summons the ghost of Simon's "old friend" -- Sordid. The evil sorcerer promises the youngster to take him up as his apprentice if the boy helps him to defeat his arch enemy--Simon. They send a magic wardrobe (what else?) to teleport Simon back into their dimension and into Sordid's fortress, but fortunately for our hero, the spell doesn't quite turn out as Sordid had planned. Simon is teleported right in front of Calypso's shop. Naturally, he wants to go back, so we have to find the only substance that can generate enough energy to make the wardrobe work again--Mucusade.

Opinion

I tried to make a list of changes in this game compared to the first episode, but I didn't get too far. Except for scrolling backgrounds and a little loss of cohesion in the story I couldn't find any changes worth mentioning. The quality of the graphics stayed very high, but the story (and thus the locations) are mainly built around jokes, not a tale. The result is that now the game has a lot of separate jokes and gags, but it lost something as a whole. The music - just like in Simon 1 - matches the game perfectly.

Well worth the money.
